Wapiti, the Native American name for the North American Elk, means white rump. This name was given to the Elk because of its light or cream colored rump.
These majestic creatures are so beautiful to see. The males with huge antlers standing guard over their herd, ready to take on a challenge from another male at any time.
This bowl is sculpted completely of paper, painted, lined with hand made paper, then a Kingman turquoise cabochon is placed in the center or the heart of the bowl. This bowl, Native Spirit Wapiti, honors my Native American grandmother. |

The art of Bullfighting on horseback. This sport requires enormous skill and great horsemanship on the part of the riders, while the horses must be courageous, strong, and very athletic.
The bulls, Toros Bravos, are bred to be strong, aggressive, brave, and beautiful. Bullfighting has been a Spanish tradition for many centuries and even though most of us would agree this is a violent sport, there is still beauty to be found in it.
Both of these bowls are sculpted from paper then painted. When the sculpted bowls are completed, they are 3 dimensional paintings. |

The beautiful Andalusian horse of Spain is an ancient breed that was brought to North and South America by the Conquistadors. This breed has influenced so many of the great breeds of horses throughout the world. They are known for their courage, strength, intelligence, and beauty.
They are now very prized in Mexico, my father's family country of origin. That is why this beautiful dapple grey Andalusian stallion is tacked up with a Mexican saddle and bridle, while his rider is wearing a charro outfit.
The horse has a great influence in my life, to own them, love them, use them so often in my art work, what more could I ask for! |

The beauty of the horse is undeniable. My love of horses has influenced my art for as far back as I can remember. Their appearance is one of power and elegance, then add to that a coat of gold and a flowing mane and tail of alabaster white, and you have what the Spanish nobility desired, Caballos de Oro, horses of gold.
This bowl is sculpted entirely by hand from paper and inset with turquoise cabochons. The palomino represents my Spanish and Mexican heritage while the turquoise honors my native American grandmother.
Art plays such a huge role in my life. I dream, feel, and surround myself with art. Whether a painting, pastel, paper sculpture, or jewelry, art is always with me. What more could I ask for than to be able to create what my spirit feels. |
